To make an appointment for a massage please include your first and last name, address, phone number and email. For legal and safety reasons this information is required. Email will be the main way the system communicates information about upcoming and cancelled appointments, and this is how you access your personal health information online. Appointments will be denied or canceled if this information is not valid. One Appointment per day, per person. If you are making an appointment for someone else, please give them this website so that person can create their own online file and be accepted as a client before the day of service. The only way to make an appointment is through the online booking portal.

Please wait in the buildings main waiting area as the room is a single room and may have a massage going on in it. Please arrive at least 5-minutes early and to complete intake form before day of your appointment to avoid cancellation at the time of service (due to contraindications). Blank intake forms submitted are not accepted.

Please give at least a 12-hour notice if you need to cancel. You will have access to your appointments online to cancel. Reminders are sent out 24hours before your appointment by email.

No call/no-shows and cancellations at the time of your massages are a fee of $25 and clients won’t be able to make a new appointment until fee is covered. Please, email amyfegerlmt2@hmail.com to cover this fee to access online booking again. Exceptions are of course emergencies.

Please be sure to check your emails the day of appointment to be sure there are no cancellations due to Air quality, weather conditions, illness or emergencies. Also could be from intake information that may have too many contraindications to having a massage. I go through intake forms the morning of massages and if I can when they are submitted.

Background Information

Amy graduated in 2015 from Irene's Myomassology Institute in Therapeutic Massage. Since then, she has returned to Irenes as an elective teacher in Sound Healing where she teaches her own methods of sound healing since 2018. Amy offers Reiki and Massage at her new location in Ann Arbor. Even though Amy has been trained in a wide range of modalities she has chosen to offer Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Swedish Massage, Reiki & Tuning Forks Sessions in Ann Arbor.

Amy has a background of working in the spa environment, as well as other centers offering energy work modalities. She has hosted many Reiki Shares, Group Sound Healing Events and Energy Healing Circles. Amy has enjoyed volunteering and sharing her modalities at such places as Conscious Cafe in A2, Chair Massage at U of M golf course, to playing her crystal bowls at Spiritual Centers and for various Ann Arbor events. Amy also has coordinated with yoga teachers to host events integrating sound therapies with yoga.

Amy is also a Graduate of WCC with an Associates in Applied Science (2007) and a National Dean's list Honor Student Twice Over. Amy has been part of the Phi Theta Kappa Society since 2004. Trained in The Nine Rites of the Munay Ki (2016) and apprenticed under Bruce Fagan in passing the Rites to others, Amy's Reiki teachers include: Eve Wilson ( I, II 2014), Sue Hidalgo-Burton (III 2015) & Bruce Fagan (Reiki Master Teacher 2018).

Amy brings her deep passion for helping people find their calm and targeted pain relief into her massages.

Notes on Contraindications & Recommendations

I cannot do couples massages because it’s just me.

Must be 18 or older.

About geriatric massage. Elderly cannot have deep tissue massage due to fragile skin potentially ripping and certain fragility of body. Specially trained geriatric massage therapists and under doctors permission can massage be performed. If elderly, only very light pressure can be applied with no major stretching. Please do not sign up for a deep tissue massage because I will not be able to do that. Hot stone massages are generally not recommended for elderly individuals without prior medical clearance. Older adults frequently experience thinner skin, reduced pain sensation, and circulatory issues. These factors significantly increase the risk of accidental burns, making the treatment potentially unsafe.

Cancer & Massage: A massage therapist trained in Oncology massage is recommended as they would work with this specific condition. call Kathryn Joy at Miody Wisdom: (734)748-4564 who specializes in this type of massage therapy at The Natural Healing Center in Ann Arbor.

Spinal issues such as Slipped disks, Herniated disks and other spine related issues: One would need to see a therapist that specializes in these areas, along side with their doctor and chiropractor. Massage can be contraindicative to these conditions. I do not specialize in medical massage or spine related injuries. A recommended chiropractor by one of my clients is: Randy at https://www.pivotalchiropractic.com/ An Example: someone with later stages of osteoporosis may have compression fractures of the spine. Even a cough or simply bending over could create a fracture, so deep tissue or any massage with pressure would definitely be contraindicative. unless applied by a medical massage therapist (or if elderly a geriatric massage specialist.) Someone wouldn't know unless it hurts and it doesn't hurt until it is fractured. So, working close with your doctor (If massage is a good choice or not) is very important. This type of massage I do not do. Some clients don't tell me about pretty severe spinal conditions until they are already on the table. This can lead to unknown injuries if not known from the start.

Swelling & Lymph Drainage: This condition of areas of the body swelling sometimes can be relived through a specialized technique called Lymph drainage. The best in the field is located here in Ann Arbor and his name is Rob Kelly at Rob Kelly Massage (734)480-8536.

DVT, Severe Osteoporosis are contraindicative of having a massage. For clients with Varicose veins very light pressure always, as any pressure if severe could dislodge a blood clot that could lead to a stroke. Skin conditions: Open wounds, burns, rashes, severe acne, eczema, or psoriasis are areas that will be avoided, Acute injuries: Sprains, strains, or inflammation Recent major surgery: Massage may interfere with healing and massage is not recommended without doctors consent,

A Contraindication may be a reason why I may need to cancel a massage until certain conditions have cleared or simply are not in the best interest for the client to have a massage. The sooner you fill out your intake form, the sooner I will be able to determine if massage is not recommended. The last thing I want to do is cancel on a new client. Please do not take it personally, it just means I'm not the right practitioner for you and not trained in the area needed to move forward with the massage.
